Engineering Department

Engineering is part of the Public Works Department and provides the City with design, construction, inspection, and technical oversight for managing the City’s capital projects and infrastructure from concept through construction.   The department deals with both private development projects as well as the City’s capital infrastructure projects.  

Technical areas include transportation, traffic, stormwater, water, sanitary sewer, solid waste, construction management, and inspections.   The engineering staff also provides technical support to both the Grand Glaize Airport and the Lee C. Fine Airport and the Building and Planning Departments.

Offices of Engineering
The offices of Engineering is part of the Public Works Department and consists of a Civil Engineer, a Civil Engineer Tech, and a Construction Inspector.

The Civil Engineer assists the City Engineer in design, contract management, administration of construction and engineering projects for both private and public capital infrastructure.  

The Civil Engineer Tech provides the department with survey, drafting, contract costing, and GIS technical services for construction and engineering projects.

The Construction Inspector directly assists both the Engineering and the Building Departments in construction inspection for both private and public projects.
