K9 Officer Axel
November 2012 K9 Officer Axel joined the ranks of the Osage Beach Police Department at the age of 3.

Prior to serving the Osage Beach Police Department, Axel was deployed with U.S. military units in Afghanistan as a tracking dog.  Axel was used to track individuals responsible for leaving explosive devices targeted towards coaltion military forces.

K9 Officer Axel is partnered with Senior Officer Sam Ford and they certify annually in the areas of obedience, article search, tracking, building search, handler protection and narcotic detection through the North American Police Work Dog Association (N.A.P.W.D.A.) and Missouri Police Canine Association (M.O.P.C.A.).

Senior Officer Ford and K9 Axel are a very successful team who are often called by surrounding lake area law enforcement agencies to assist their officers.  They also do public demonstrations for Community events and conferences.

Is your group interested in having K9 Axel and his partner Senior Officer Sam Ford at your event?

Contact Lieutenant Tim Taylor or Senior Officer Sam Ford for more information.
