Public Smoking Ban within the City's limits? Do the residents, business owners, visitors, and those who work in Osage Beach want this? ... We want to know what you think?
The topic for this year’s first Public Forum at the City of Osage Beach will be to get input from residents, business owners, and those who work in or visit Osage Beach, about whether or not the City of Osage Beach should follow in the footsteps of many municipalities in the State of Missouri and implement a public smoking ban ordinance.
Obviously, this is a controversial subject, but the Mayor and Board of Aldermen would like to hear from residents, business owners, and those who work in or visit Osage Beach about whether they should consider banning smoking in public places in the City of Osage Beach.
Individuals can meet with Mayor Lyons, or their Aldermen, by ward, to voice their opinions. There will be petitions to sign indicating whether or not you are in favor of, or opposed to, a smoking ban. Information will be provided from other cities that have implemented similar ordinances, and from the American Lung Association.
This may be the first of many public meetings, or it may be the only public meeting, but if you live or work in, or visit, our community, stop by and let us hear your opinion.
